Their is a clear cut policy for inter zonal transfer in the CBDT. However, the same is not available in CBEC courtesy of the ban implemented by CBEC in 2004, though relaxation in the form of spouse ground came in 2009. This is not sufficient for the officers, who has joined after 2005 on all India ranking but has been placed in a cadre zone permanently till their next promotion. CBEC must think over it and do the needful so that the officers should not feel confined and have a chance to go to their hometown. This way, they can work in a much better manner and department is going to benefit from this only. Our Inspector Association must come forward and fight it out for us on our behalf as they are our sole representative.
